Blog stage six: comment on colleagues work

In this post, Afara A, presents that President Trump should pay more attention to the environment instead of only focusing on the economy. Afara mentions that President Trump is signing an executive order to change President Obama's work on improving our environment in order to save jobs. I do not think President Trump has strong intentions of helping improve our environment, because he does not take climate change very seriously.

While I do agree that President Trump should focus on environmental concerns, I do not think that he should pay less attention to the economical concerns. After all that is how we will run our country. I do believe that President Trump needs to pay more attention to our environment, because it will eventually catch up to us later down the road.
I disagree when Trump said that building a strong economy is the key to protecting the environment. I do not see how this correlates, as these are two different issues that our country faces. I do not agree that President Trump should place an executive order that dismisses all of President Obama’s work to protect the environment. There are other ways to produce more jobs. President Obama's work to protect the environment seems to be working. I believe Trump should focus on producing more jobs in different ways to help improve our economy while improving President Obama's work to improve our environment. Climate change is an issue that our country will always face and President Trump needs to take it more seriously than he is. He needs to take it more into account than he is rather than blowing off this major issue. President Trump should focus on improving our economy while improving our environment.

Blog stage five: Obamacare Repeal

In the article Why 'Skinny' Obamacare Repeal Is a Terrible Idea, the author, J.B. Silvers, talks about how the repeal of skinny Obamacare would effect many Americans leaving them without insurance coverage and the result that it would have on our Government.

I agree with J.B.Silvers, skinny Obamacare should not be repealed. It will result in a much greater loss for the citizens of America than it will help them. Why should we repeal Obamacare, if it is going to leave people without insurance coverage? Repealing Obamacare has also caused many insurers to leave the market because they are unsure of what types of policies our government is going to enforce. If this repeal takes place then many people including insurers and doctors will be negatively affected by this. This will also result in many American’s to pay more out of pocket. A lot of people will be suffering, some may even die as a result of not being able to afford the healthcare that they need. If people need to have the care that they need, they should be able to have it. Republicans often forget about the people who work two jobs to help their family member get through an illness. It is expensive and will continue to be more expensive if we repeal Obamacare. We do not need to put a burden on the middle class and working families and be giving tax breaks to the wealthy. We need to focus on what is important and that is helping each other survive through these difficult times. People need health insurance in order to survive, and if we repeal Obamacare than many will go without it and the citizens of America will face great economical and health issues.

Stage Four: Gun Control

On the America Blog,  John Aravosis wrote an article called, Scaramucci wants more gun control, and finds Trump’s climate change position “disheartening”, he talks about Anthony Scaranucci's argument of needing more gun control in the United States and that climate change should be taken more seriously because it is a real issue that we face here on Earth. His target audience is liberals who are for gun laws and people who believe in climate change. He mentions that the United States takes up 5% of the world’s population, but the people in the United States make up for 50% of the guns in the world. He also mentions that climate change is legit and that it is not a hoax. People need to become more aware of what will happen in our future with climate.

I agree with Scaranucci, gun control needs to be taken more seriously. The fact that the United States alone accounts for 50% of the guns in the entire world is insane to me. It is very scary to think of how many people have access to guns. With todays day and age most people should not have access to guns. I think that they need to make gun laws more strict and make it very hard to almost impossible to be able to purchase or have access to guns. If we had strict gun laws then most of these attacks and killing that have been happening recently would not happen. I also agree with his statement on climate change. Global warming is real. Whether President Trump believes it is real or it’s a hoax, facts are facts. Scientist have done their research to prove that it is a real thing and people need to become more aware of how they treat our environment. It may not affect us in our lifetime, but it will affect the future generations that our kids could possibly be in.

Blog Stage Three: TrumpCare

In the article, Understanding Republican Cruelty, Paul Krugman states that TrumpCare will be worse for many more Americans  than it will be benefitting them. By taking health insurance away from millions of people and making it much more expensive it leaves tons of people in a hole. People fear that they will lose health care and dread the day that they will have to live this nightmare. Krugman mentions that they would use the money that they saved on healthcare to cut taxes, but this would also have a negative effect on many people. He fears for the day that this all becomes a reality. When Trump punishes, the poor and working class and cuts taxes for the rich.

I agree with what Paul Krugman proposed through out this entire article. I too fear for the day when the poor become poorer and the rich become richer. If health insurance gets taken away then many lives will be lost due to the inability of those who can not afford the proper treatments and medications that are needed. If the rich are already rich why should they not share their wealth and help others in need. I don’t believe it is necessary for Trump to cut taxes which are dollars that are used for healthcare. It is needed by many, and relied on by even  more. If Trump were to cut taxes for the rich it would make a small difference in their lives when in reality it could be helping out so many more. Trump’s plan would benefit far few than it would hurt. It is nerve racking to see what our future holds and how we will over come this as Americans.

Blog Stage Part Two: Trump's Poll

On July 16th, 2017, Time posted an article called President Trump Just Said This Poll Was the 'Most Inaccurate' Around the Election. It Wasn't. The article discussed President Trump's disbelieve in the accuracy of the polls that were taken over who was going to win the election by headliners such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, ABC News, Washington Post, NBC, CBS, and so on. President Trump posted on Twitter about his disbelief in the accuracy of these polls. Many people are disagreeing with his twitter post about Trump believing these polls are inaccurate, because many of the polls fell under the 3% error rate that is expected from each news source/poll. The article mentions that most of the polls had very similar results with low error margins. In all reality, since a number of the sources are similar in results
they can not all be inaccurate. There has to be some truth to these polls.

I recommend reading this article because it shows that our President is weary of most news sources. He choses to believe the media is "Fake News" when most of it is in fact accurate since it is coming from multiple news sources.
